Urea
Urea is an organic compound with the chemical formula NH2 (2CO). This compound is colorless, odorless, and relatively non-toxic and has a high solubility in water. More than 90% of urea production in the world is nitrogen-containing for use as chemical fertilizers. Urea in the soil is hydrolyzed to ammonia and carbon dioxide. The ammonia from this process is oxidized to nitrate by bacteria in the soil and can therefore be absorbed by the plant. Urea is also one of the most important raw materials in the chemical industry and in the production of various plastics, In particular, urea formaldehyde resins, adhesives, such as urea formaldehyde and urea melamine formaldehyde, potassium cyanate and urea nitrate are used.
